Learn More →We get incredible joy from seeing people thrive and building things that help them to do so. We want to create something that provides meaningful value to users, is financially sustainable and accessible to those who could benefit from it most. We measure success by how much we can help someone flourish.
Being slightly more pretentious, we feel many modern forces influence our behaviour to their own ends, over our well-being and life satisfaction. We want to help people identify such influences, gaps and opportunities regarding their quality of life, then support them realize and maintain positive change.
We're considerate that well-being, life satisfaction and achievement look different to everyone, and that different approaches work best for different people. To that end, we're believers in experimentation, sustainability, flexibility, gradual improvement, continual feedback, being honest and being realistic. We strive for what we build to reflect this.
Conjure is being built by James Whelton. He previously founded a non-profit reaching hundreds of thousands of young people in over 110 countries, has built several e-commerce companies and technology products, and has many failed ventures under his belt. Like most, he has experienced highs, lows, burn outs (he's attempted nearly every method possible) and challenging life circumstances, pushing him to explore how to obtain the most from one's life, whatever that might look like to them.
Conjure has been shaped by the continual feedback, learnings and encouragement from our users and supporters. Conjure has been fortunate to have collaboration from talented individuals on design and the logo.
Conjure began after 2 years of exploration, research and meeting professionals around behaviour change, psychology, performance, happiness, subjective well-being and life satisfaction. During these 2 years, James also experimented by building several tools for life management, tasks, scheduling, reflection and wellness education (some of which are still in use today). The outcome of the exploration, experimentation and learnings is the vision for Conjure.
The first line of code was committed on 17 April 2020 in Cork, Ireland. After 7 months of James using it everyday, the first other user was given access in November 2020. Conjure had it's first paying customer on 5 July 2021, who had been using the platform for 6 months by that point.
Our first goal is to build an incredible platform for managing habits, behaviours and achievements. We're catering to individuals who know what they want to achieve, and want to leverage the sophistication Conjure can offer. We've achieved a lot to this end and have several things on roadmap we're really excited about.
Once satisfied, we'll move to building a content and education layer on top of the platform, to better help individuals identify and implement opportunities for improvement. We'll balance making an accessible, welcoming experience for new users and striving to exceed the expectations of power users.
Once here, we'll take stock, reflect our on learnings and assess whats next. We have a number of ideas around task management, scheduling and physical devices, which we think worthy of exploring.
Throughout this journey, we hope the API and integrations will allow others to create on top of Conjure and leverage what we've built.
Our desire is to grow sustainability, have a great community and ecosystem, build a strong team, be around for a long time and work fervently to realize our vision.
